“Warwick in History” – On this date in 1820 all were issued licenses and permits to operate inns and taverns in the Town of Warwick met and agreed to the following:
1. That they would not permit any cock-fighting;
2. That they would not permit any card-playing or dice games;
3. That they would not keep any billiard tables or other gaming tables or shuffle-boards within the inns or taverns;
4. That none of the foregoing items would be kept in any out-house, yard or garden belonging to the operators of the inns or taverns.
