“Warwick in History” – Early in the year 1906, a letter and an invitation came to the trustees of our village from the mayor of Warwick, England, requesting and inviting them to be present at a great historical pageant to be given on the grounds of Warwick Castle in the month of July that year, to commemorate 2000 years of the history of this ancient town.

Accordingly, our trustees prepared an album containing our greetings and congratulations as follows:

Sir: Accept congratulations and greetings from your daughter and namesake across the sea, on the occasion of your great historical pageant. As Americans we are proud of our English ancestry, and of that mighty nation, on whose empire the sun never sets, whose history is the history of everything that makes for progress. May God continue to bless England and America, the leading Christian nations of the earth, whose history teaches the world of the transcendent value of the life, liberty, and happiness of man.

Signed Ferdinand V. Sanford,
President
