Press Release - March 14, 2006

The Historical Society of the Town of Warwick will kick off its Centennial Year Celebration during the Annual Meeting and Membership Dinner at 7:00 p.m. on April 8, 2006 at the Warwick Valley Country Club.

Highlights of the dinner will include the presentation of the Elizabeth Sanford Lewis and Madison Lewis Award, in the form of a Centennial Bowl, to the 2006 recipients: Mary W. Bradner and Dorothy A. "Deeps" Sanford.

Music will be provided by Synergy 4. The event will be catered by the House of Edward Fava and there will be a cash bar.

Members of the Historical Society may purchase tickets for $35.00 per person at the Baird's Tavern office on Main Street. Those wishing to join the Society may do so online, or in person at the Baird's Tavern office.

This is the first of many special events planned for this Centennial year including:

  • May 21, 2006 - "100 Years of Fashion"- Old School Baptist Meeting House and Bairds Tavern, Main Street, Warwick
  • June 4, 2006 - Wine and Cheese Tasting Party - Lewis Park, Main Street, Warwick
  • June 24, 2006 - Friends of the Historical Society Garden Party - 1810 House and Herb Wheel Garden, Main Street, Warwick
  • July 29, 2006 - George Washington Day Community Parade, Lost Arts Festival and Picnic - Lewis Park, Main Street, Warwick
  • August 26, 2006 - Under the Tent Preservation Party - Lewis Park, Main Street, Warwick
  • November 18, 2006 - Harvest to Holly Candle Light Tour - Society Buildings in the Village of Warwick.
  • November 19, 2006 - Harvest to Holly Tour- Society Buildings in the Village of Warwick
