Pat Gilchrist, an enduring champion of Orange County, is honored by Warwick Historical Society at the Under the Tent Party - Centennial Benefit on August 26, 2006
On August 26, 2006 at the Under the Tent Party - Centennial Benefit, The Historical Society of the Town of Warwick will honor Pat Gilchrist and her contribution to Orange County, Warwick and the Society.
A long time member of the Historical Society of the Town of Warwick, Pat has given her energy and support to the Society's many activities over the years. Most recently Pat has agreed to help with the 2007 Capital Campaign of the Historical Society. The objective of this campaign is to increase the Society's capital reserves to fund the restoration and maintenance of Society properties.
The Society feels very fortunate to have Pat with them during this critical period. The Historical Society is blessed with many historically significant properties and collections. A few date back to colonial times and while authentic are in need of restoration and preservation. Beginning in 2007, with Pat's help, they plan to build a capital reserve that will provide the funds needed to ensure the restoration and maintenance of our properties.
Patricia Gilchrist has been an active member of the Orange County Community for four decades. Her influence and dedication to the many organizations with which she served is exceptional.
Pat recently retired as President of the Orange County Citizens Foundation, a position that she held for 18 years. Under Pat's leadership the Foundation experienced extraordinary growth and implemented numerous initiatives including Orange Pathways, the Orange County Arboretum, Leadership Orange, and the Community Foundation of Orange County.
The Warwick Historical Society and Pat have many interests in common. Pat has been a driving force over the years in improving the quality of life in Orange County. To that end she has focused on land use, transportation planning, waste and water management, and cultural affairs.
Please join The Warwick Historical Society on Saturday, August 26, 2006 in celebrating 100 years of preservation and honoring an outstanding friend of Warwick, Pat Gilchrist.
Thank you Pat, for your dedication and passionate community spirit!
The celebration is scheduled for Saturday, August 26th from 6PM to 9PM at Lewis Park on Main Street, in the Village of Warwick. Tickets are $40.00 per person and can be purchased in the office at the Baird Tavern, by calling 986-3236, by email at whs6@optonline.net or by clicking here.
