“Warwick in History” – The Warwick South Orange Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) was formed in 1965 as the 26th chapter in New York State and the 377th chapter in the nation. The association works to secure more equitable treatment for people over the age of 50 years. It constantly seeks to improve retirement services. Through membership, one is eligible for a broad… range of low cost benefits and services, including group health insurance plans.

The local chapter has a membership of over 120 and meets at the American Legion hall on Forester Avenue on the fourth Monday of each month. Lloyd Peavey is the current president, and on this day, the Warwick Chapter of AARP is holding a special Bicentennial meeting.
